Why did you move Template:Spanish city to Template:Infobox City ES? Category:City infobox templates has a lot of templates named "X city". Why rename just this one? --Andromeda 18:01, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Complement EU

On December 16, 2004, The World Factbook, a publication of the United States' Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) added an entry for the European Union. [1] According to the CIA, the European Union was added because the EU "continues to accrue more nation-like characteristics for itself". Their reasoning was explained in this small statement in the introduction:

The evolution of the European Union (EU) from a regional economic agreement among six neighboring states in 1951 to today's supranational organization of 25 countries across the European continent stands as an unprecedented phenomenon in the annals of history... ... for such a large number of nation-states to cede some of their sovereignty to an overarching entity is truly unique... ... the EU ... has many of the attributes associated with independent nations: its own flag, anthem, founding date, and currency, as well as an incipient common foreign and security policy in its dealings with other nations. In the future, many of these nation-like characteristics are likely to be expanded. Thus, inclusion of basic intelligence on the EU has been deemed appropriate as a new, separate entity in The World Factbook. However, because of the EU's special status, this description is placed after the regular country entries.

I might add that EU citizens have EU- numberplates, -passports, drivinglicense, the EU institutions, and regular election. I hope you support the small extension I made... all the best Lear 21 18:31, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Strong Oppose. The EU is neither a country or a soverign state, so its inclusion in the line describing the country is misplaced, therefore it should be removed. --Bob 22:24, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Please, don´t destroy the formerly existing image to put your own. An image field existed, it is called image_skyline and servs your purpose. If you destroy the former field the rests of the citys will show imageless, Madrid works but not the rest. I´ll fix it in Madrid and everything will go fine, OK? David 15:53, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Barcelona is broken

The page on Barcelona says {{{community}}} instead of Catalonia. Madrid and Sevilla (Why is the article called "Seville?") are fine. The link works correctly. I checked and "community" is spelled correctly in the box. Dmbrown00 05:28, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

The article is called Seville because that is its more usual name in English. Physchim62 (talk) 02:26, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Most Spanish cities are in the CET time zone, so I've made that the default. The Canaries are an exception, so other time zones can still be specified. Hairy Dude 16:36, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

What about putting the Demonym ("Gentilicio") on the template? It would be a nice idea, since there are a lot of funny demonyms in Spain. I have tried to do so, but I couldn't do it.

Would it be possible to have a section that would list the given city's sister cities? I've seen this in other templates, and was wondering about the possibility of having it in this template too. --Mukk 03:08, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
