An Infobox sports announcer may be used to summarize information about a person who provides play-by-play or color commentary for sporting events.

Usage

The infobox can be added by copying and pasting the template shown below:

(Note: Only "name" is required. Other attributes do not have to be included.)

• bgcolor – optional – background coloring, used in associated colors/projects.
• name – the name of the announcer; usually using the page name, i. e. the common name.
• image – optional – an image of the person. The image must be given in the form "Example.jpg".
• imagesize – optional – The size can be adjusted to the editor's choice if 220px is not applicable. The size must be given in the form e.g. "200px". This can only be used if the image attribute is used.
• caption – optional – a descriptive sentence that describes the image. This can only be used if the image attribute is used.
• birthname – optional – the announcer's birth name.
• birthdate – optional – the date of birth (month date, year).
• birthplace – optional – the announcer's birthplace.
• deathdate – optional – the date of death (month date, year).
• deathplace – optional – the announcer's deathplace.
• othername – optional – alternate name(s) by which the announcer was known.
• team(s) – optional – the team or teams for which the announcer broadcasts
• team homepage(s) – optional – the announcer's teams' official website(s).
• genre – optional – the genre (i. e., play-by-play, color commentary, sideline updates) in which the announcer broadcasts.
• sport(s) – optional – the sport or sports usually associated with the announcer.
• salary – optional – the annual salary earned by the announcer.
