An Infobox WikiProject may be used to summarize information about a WikiProject.

This infobox can be added by copying and pasting the template shown below:
Note: Only "name" is required. All other attributes are optional.

- name – is the name of the project, without the 'Wikipedia: WikiProject' prefix
- width – sets the width of the infobox. When not specified, the default is 25em.
- Image-related:
- image – An image for the project. Given in the form of "example.jpg" (i.e., do not specify the size, caption, position, et cetera, and don't prefix it with 'Image:').
- imagesize – sets the width of the project image. When not specified, the default is 300px.
- caption – a descriptive sentence that describes the image. Something like "This WikiProject is about project topic."
- shortcuts – If your project has any Shortcuts, list them here in the form
[[WP:Shortcut]]. Multiple shortcuts may be given as a comma separated or bulleted list. - category – The name of the root category of the articles in the scope of the WikiProject. Do not write the word "Category."
- category2 – Write the name of a second root category if the project uses more than one.
- portal – The name of an appropriate Portal for this project. Don't prefix 'Portal:' on the name.
- portal2 – Write the name of a second appropriate portal if the project uses more than one.
- commons – The name of a category in the Wikimedia Commons that's appropriate to your topic.
- parent – The name of the parent project for this project, without the 'Wikipedia: WikiProject' prefix.
- notice – The name of the project notice template you use for this project. Given without the 'Template:' prefix or any {{ }} syntax.
- A userbox used by the project may be specified either of two ways:
- userbox – If the userbox is in template space (i.e., {{Template:userbox name}}), give just the template name without the 'Template:' prefix or any {{ }} syntax.
- userbox2 – If the userbox is in user space (i.e., {{User:Example/Userboxes/ProjectBox}}), give just the user's name and the complete path to the userbox without the 'User:' prefix or any {{ }} syntax.
- userbox3 – If the userbox is in wikipedia space (i.e., {{Wikipedia:Example/Userboxes/ProjectBox}}), give just the page name and the complete path to the userbox without the 'Wikipedia:' prefix or any {{ }} syntax.
- inactive – If set to "yes", includes the Inactive WikiProject bar on the page
- helps-organise-children – If set to "yes", indicates that the project will be active in helping organise subprojects (including task forces and work groups; don't put this down unless the project is going to set those up when useful)
- has-goals – If set to "no", indicates that the project exists solely to help organise child projects and co-ordinate items of interest common to all sub-projects, and does not engage in other activity
- assessment – The link to the project's assessment page
- footnotes – Any additional free form notes about your project.
