This template can be used as an Infobox for highways, roads, streets and routes in the United Arab Emirates. A description of the template's parameters are listed below.

Field name Usage Description
[edit] Route names and rendering
highway_name optional Name of the road, route or street
ar_name optional Name of the road, route or street in Arabic
image_road optional Image of the road, if available
image_road_caption optional Short-text caption of the image_road image
shield_image optional Road sign associated with the road per the Dubai route numbering system, if road is an E-route or D-route [1]
alternate_name optional Any other names that the route is known by; for example, E 11 is also known as Sheikh Maktoum Road in Abu Dhabi and Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai.
route_type optional If road is a D- or an E- route. The only permitted arguments for this parameter are D and E. Refer to Dubai route numbering system for more information.

length optional Length of the road; the unit of measurement can be added in free text (ie. 25 km or 30 mi)
length_km optional The length of the road in kilometers. [2]
length_mi optional The length of the road in miles. [3]
length_round optional Approximate length of the route; unit of measurement can be added in free text
length_notes optional Any associated footnotes in relation to the length of the road

decommissioned optional If the road is no longer being used in the UAE
established optional Date the road was established
history optional History associated with the road (ie. was the road known by any other name in the past, etc)
direction optional Directional flow of the road
[edit] Interchanges
interchanges optional Please include this parameter only if the road has interchages; do not include this parameter if there are no known interchanges associated with the route.

aj_int optional Interchanges in Ajman
rak_int optional Interchanges in Ras al Khaimah

junctions optional Please include this parameter only if the road has junctions; do not include this parameter if there are no known junctions associated with the route.

  • ^  Shield images for most E- and D- routes passing through Dubai have been added to Wikipedia Commons. Shield images uploaded to Commons are in Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) format, and can be modified as needed. For assistance in creating or modifying shield images, please contact User:AreJay
  • ^  Information pertaining the the length of the road can be obtained via Wikimapia. Use the Geotools menu option (Geotools > Measure distance or route) in Wikimapia to measure the length of a route.
