It seems that the key element of an Infantry square is to not be broken, the breaking of the square is an integral part of any discusion of squares. –Gomm 23:49, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

the idea of breaking the square is really meaningless unless a person has some concept of what and infantry square is.24.18.52.37 04:22, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image needed

I have removed Image:Infantry Square.PNG from this article, as it fails Criterion 1 ("no free equivalent") of the Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria.

The image was being used here solely as an illustrative example of an infantry square. It could be replaced by diagrams, or by a free photograph captured at (for example) an historical reenactment. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 20:57, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
