[edit] Cleanup tag put up on the page
I feel that with the list of software companies and articles on coaching centres, this page is beginning to show signs of transforming itself into a yellow page, which I sincerely believe Wikipedia is not. This is setting a very bad precedent where in the future we would be seeing articles like Grocery Shops in Indore and Restaurants in Indore. I wanted to clean up this mess myself, but thought we should first discuss on what is to be allowed and what not.
Furthermore, I have found that articles on Educational Institutes are written with very high emotional involvement and clearly not written with neutrality. Although its not a critical issue and can be tolerated for a while, in the long run this should be removed. So why not do it now. This also can be done by anyone, but let's discuss it first.
Some examples are as follows:
- IIPS claims its India's leading technical and management institution for teaching and research, but does not provide any verifiable source for this statement. Same case with ACMV's article.
- Malwa Institute Of Technology is also not not upto the mark with unverifiable claims.
- Other minor involvements like quality education, noble profession, etc. are best avoided.

==POV in terms of places to
I agree. I am a resident of Indore and I feel that the information on Indore seems to be biased.
- The list of schools and colleges is too long. Some of the old and well known higher education institutions can have their own pages and added to Category:Universities_and_colleges_in_Indore. Also, the individual institute pages (for example, IIM-I or St. Paul's School) will link to Indore but not the other way round. The list of eminent people needs to go away. Cpbaherwani 04:37, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
- The list of eminent people can be moved to a separate article as in Notable citizens of Chicago. This will remove the clutter from Indore city page. Cpbaherwani 21:48, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Added Notable citizens of Indore and links to new article in "See also" and "Eminent people..." section. Can we remove the "Eminent people..." section now? Cpbaherwani 02:25, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Expansion Tag
Please try and expand the article under following heads:
- Law and Government
- Geography
- Demographics
- Neighbourhood
- Major industries
- Sites of interest
I also want that the sub-sections on colleges and schools should be replaced by a list only, with relevant link to Wikipedia/external pages.
-Ambuj Saxena (talk) 11:26, 2 March 2006 (UTC) Expasion of culture is also needed as Indore is not only commercial capital but also Cultural Capital of State
The listing of the schools colleges and eminent people must be arranged in alphabetical order Viveksoley 13:37, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Page should be moved back
This page should be moved back to Indore, and the disambig list should be moved to Indore (disambiguation) which can be accessed from this page. Almost all people who type "Indore" are looking for the city and not the associated district, division, or British residency. In fact, they may not even have to be disambiguated at all, as they are mentioned in the introduction. --Schzmo 14:46, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- Fully agree and that's done. Vjdchauhan 13:39, 21 December 2006 (UTC).
- Hi Vjdchauhan, I added description to disambiguation page. The Indore city page shows heading as "Indore, India", how do we change it to "Indore"? Is it because Indore, India still links to the same page? Cpbaherwani 19:00, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
- Pls use move tab there at the top. Vjdchauhan 13:22, 25 December 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Promotion of shops rather than description of food
The last section under the title "Food" appear to be Promotion of shops rather than description of food . Adding names like Anna's Pan Shop, Laxmi Vijay Tea house, GuruKripa, etc. is business promotion.

[edit] POV in 'Places of Interest
Definately not enclopedic. Take for example: Kajligarh - Nearly 20 kms towards Khandwa on Khandwa road, its a very small old ruined fort situated near to a beautiful valley & small waterfall. Its worth watching during & after the rainy season. An Ideal one day outing spot which is yet unknown to even most of the Indorites This reads more like a bad travel guide than anything. I'd like to devote some time to sorting this article out, but I'm not sure which parts are even legitimate at all, as per Vivesoley, above, as well as descriptions of places such as the one above. I think lots of 'citation needed' tags are also necessary? Ishaana 15:26, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New Article/Section suggestion
If we are to remain un-biased an article/section about concerns/disadvantages about Indore should be included as well.
For example:
1. Slow implementation of Infrastructural Plans compared to competitor cities like Pune, Ahmedabad, Chandigrah.. etc.
2. Less expenditure on Infrastructure which is vital for a commercial capital to sustain growth.
3. Indore still remain comparatively backward in terms of personal expression.
4. Lack of proper enforcement of traffic regulations makes driving an unpleasant experience.
5. Ambitious plans like Crystal IT Park and BRTS are long awaiting completion due to lack of political will.
6. Indore airport is poorly connected to Major cities of the country like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Calcutta, and Chennai.
Plans to have an active International airport have been in discussion for a very long time now but to no conclusion.
I have been born and brought up in Indore, and I love the city. But, we should try to include all aspects relating to Indore, including the drawbacks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anupams123 (talk • contribs) 07:23, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
