165.138.11.25 - You placed on the page "if the total was right on 2005 metro population, it would be 1,771,003. The population increase by hamilton county alone between 2000 and 2005 is more than you have for the entire indy metro."

Please note that although Hamilton County did grow, Madison County was removed from the Indy Metropolitan Statistical Area between 2000 and 2005 to form the Anderson, IN Metropolitan Statistical Area. This is covered in the notation on the population table where ¹ denotes "County was not a part of Indianapolis, IN MSA at the time of this Census and the county's population is not included in MSA total." You may be confusing this with a Combined Statistical Area (CSA) which is mentioned in the header with the counties added to the MSA (including Anderson, IN MSA and some others) to form the CSA.
