In starting the Indian Ocean Interdisciplinary Managment -IOIMF subject note its importance - in 1976 very few beside great academecians and leading multinational heads of specialy government agency, special services in the West knew or understood the science of Interdisciplinary - Multidisciplinary management.

Eqally important given that the state of politic in the Indian Ocean then 1979, it could not be officialy implanted had to be transfered to London - Britain. The unique and very enormous contribution it lend to the rebuilding of the British economy of Lady Margret Tacther, Her majesty government.(Britain was then named the "sick man of Europe") Those who used and integrated this discipline and management practice. The driving motor, synergy, dynamic, political, economic, thinking behind the peaceful revolution in Poland, the COMECON, changes in USSR, Germany Reunification. The changes which came to the Indian ocean and OAU - African Union.
Since 1979 some of the very important contributions to date it has brought to the many economic, political, scientific, cultural issues of the EU, the new EU member state and Russian Commonwealth.
This disciplin is a hybreed from Harvard University, other USA- management faculty, L'ENA, Germany, Italy, Candinavia, Russia, Britian leading management Uiversity and develop world management practice. Over the years other disciplines have been added including the parascience in vaired field and archaic management practices.
The need for this come out of the heated and intense argument around 1979 of the many UN institutions on management practices in the third world, developing world.
It has equally contributed to very many important economic issues, process of the USA, Latin America and Canada affecting the greater world, the White House occupants and the world thinking, the very world we live in today.
Very many leading International Institutions have taken onboard and integrated aspect of these disciplin in their management system too.
Not least its impact on Asian economy and thinking, China, the ASEAN regional nations.
One of its first work was a research by UNIDO/world Bank Vienna, Titled Indian Ocean Industrial Investment Promotion Centre 1979, based on the CARICOM, other small regional economic grouping at the time. The concept, idea was taken and became the building block/foundation for COI. Its secretariat in Mauritius - Port Louis.
There have been several attempts to implant it proper in the Indian Ocean - Seychelles, involving several leading personalities, politicians and agencies. It is feared that given the inadequate benchmark in the region, politicians and ruthless business man will abuse this disciplin.
In 2004 after discussion with four leading Law firms in Seychelles - the word Foundation was added, including the founder of SIM, Mr Guy Morel former Seychelles Central Bank Head.
