[edit] Name

I'm sorry but i move the page because the name Independiente Santa Fe are absolutely false. You can see it at http://www.dimayor.com.co/club_santafe.htm --Kok13 (talk) 03:41, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Requested move

Santa Fe Corporación Deportiva → Club Santa Fe — This page was recently moved from "Independiente Santa Fe" to it's current name without discussion or consensus. Football articles on Colombian and other South American football teams rarely use the full official title, in much the same way that British teams use F.C. instead of Football Club. I propose that the article be renamed Club Santa Fe, as the team is often referred to in this way. Also Santa Fe Corporación Deportiva is only the current iteration of the club name. The majority of the notable players and players in Cat:Independiente Santa Fe footballers never played for a club of this name. —English peasant 18:57, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Support The full legal name of the club is not its common name, and this is a compromise title for the article that will be easier for users to find. It appears that the club is most often referred to as simply "Santa Fe" is reliable sources, but since we need to disambiguate it from other articles with that name, adding Club is the most reasonable method. Club Santa Fe is also used by www.dimayor.com.co which is the official site of the competition it participates in. Jogurney (talk) 22:15, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
