[edit] Technology

Indiepix maintains a patented download to own system [11] and has developed several search engine modifications to aid in content sorting. Their Disc Factory software is a small program that allows the download of an IndiePix film and burning of that film directly to DVD for home use. The download test is a free short film selected from their catalog. [12] Download speeds may vary, as the customer is downloading an entire uncompressed DVD.

On March 18, 2008 Indiepix sponsored the inaugural Cinema Eye Honors at the IFC Center in New York. Hosted by AJ Schnack and Thom Powers, this was the first ever awards ceremony to pay tribute to the craft of non-fiction filmmaking.[13]
