[edit] History
In the early 1940s, SR 8's western terminus was at the Illinois state line, becoming Exchange Street. Later, in the 1970s, it was truncated to US 41, concurrent with US 231. Now, it terminates at US 231 and SR 2, eliminating the concurrency.
