Isn't an incendiary a device meant to SET such a fire, rather than the fire itself?

This article is just a dictionary definition, and an incorrect one at that. See wikt:incendiary for that.

My dictionary has the primary definition "(of a substance or device, esp. a bomb) designed to cause fires", plus two metaphorical uses. As a noun it is a bomb, an arsonist, or a person who stirs up strife. These are each already covered by other articles, so I'll convert this into a disambiguation page. —Michael Z. 2007-09-16 15:46 Z
