Description

Photograph of a page from a rare Blackletter bible (1497) printed in Strassburg by J.R.Grueninger. The coloured chapter initials were handwritten after printing. The original is owned by the submitter. The page contains the Book of Proverbs ("Proverbs of Solomon"). Read for example chapter II: "fili mi si susceperis sermones meos et mandata mea absconderis penes te" (http://scripturetext.com/proverbs/2-1.htm)
