Talk:Imperata cylindrica
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Can someone with more knowledge sort out the taxonomical details of this plant, please? Although I have merged the two articles Kunai grass and Cogon grass, it does look somewhat untidy with respect of its taxonomy. I would appreciate it. Dieter Simon 01:25, 19 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Hello
I removed this section from the page:
- In Southeast Asia, the roots of the plant are used cosmetically/medicinally to -- all right, I can't remember what they're supposed to be good for, someone else please fill this in. It can also be used as an insecticide. it can kill a house fly.research in cogon grass as a insecticides is done by the researches of uplb.
... since it admits at a meta-level that it is incomplete. The discussion page is for discussion. (I don't have the expertise to fix it, but a complete "Uses" section would be great!) Brighterorange 13:53, 19 August 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, Brighterorange, good thinking. I will scout round for a bit more info re uses, for the time being leave it in Talk. What we really need is the complete classification/taxonomy details. Many thanks. Dieter Simon 21:57, 19 August 2005 (UTC)

- Thank you, are you at liberty to link this reference into the article so that we may read what the research and its results are all about? Maybe an "external link", or even write it up in the 'cogon grass' Wiki article itself? Dieter Simon 22:24, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
