Jean Garcia, a famous Philippine drama antagonist, was included to the cast, and then people realized that this series will be a classic soap opera. The name of Iza Calzado was also added.[2]
The Role Of Mark Anthony Fernandez in this series also established his comeback & critics gave him a thumbs up for the acting & role that he played in this series it also established him as a dramatic actor.
The story is patterened like a komiks novel. The series is based on RJ Nuevas's original komiks creation.
[edit] Reaction
The series was heavily praised by the critics, but received mixed reactions from the audience, mainly because of its complex plot. But on its second week, the series begins to rise in ratings as the older version of the kids appeared. On its third week, it continues to level its rival show from the other network, Walang Kapalit.
The series switched timeslot to the top-rating series Lupin to get even high ratings. After the switch, Impostora was able to get ratings higher than the exchanged series.[3] It even reached a high 35%, only becoming second to Mga Mata ni Anghelita (a show on the same network) and soon demolished Walang Kapalit to a low 20%.
On its third final week, it managed to edge out the top-rating MariMar (a show on the same network) to 2nd place, making Impostora the number 1 show with an average of 33.7% on that week.[4]

[edit] Plot
The story starts out with the birth of the conjoined twins Lara and Sara(Calzado). Their parents wanted them to live a normal life so at the right age, they were separated through operation. But this separation proved to be more of a curse than a blessing. Because of their uncle's(Estrada) hatred towards their father(Sarmienta) and the greed of their aunt Betty(Garcia), their lives will turn to a living hell, leaving their mother(De Belen) no choice but to separate them and give them for adoption. Lara experienced first hand the cruelty of her aunt Betty and her diabolical cousin Vanessa/Nessa(Dizon). She escaped and was taken care of a good man. She grew up to become a beautiful, head-strong woman with the desire to find her sister and to extract revenge on the people who made their lives a living hell. Meanwhile, Sara was adopted by a family who never wanted her. Because of a freak accident, her face was burned and grew up to become an ugly, weak woman. But this changed when she meets Dr. Leandro Meneses(Alandy). Because of the problem with a local gangster and the desire to be normal again, she agrees for plastic surgery. But when she looks at her reflection, she sees another face. She then realizes that this is all just an elaborate plot of another woman, Vanessa. While she is away with her lover Leandro in some far away paradise spending the stolen money from her husband & his family, Nicolas (Fernandez),Sara will become her "double" and experience all the punishment that is due for her and to fool everyone that as if she never left. But because of her good heart, she manages to make everyone love "the new Nessa" and starts to love the family the real Vanessa never appreciated. But suddenly the real Vanessa comes back to claim her rightful place. Is this the end of the life she always dreamt of? And how about Lara? Will she figure out that the woman she's extracting revenge on is not the real Vanessa and only an IMPO§TORA.
The secret Sara is trying to keep is now out in the open when Vanessa showed up in public to humiliate her after she refused to leave the mansion. But much to their surprise, Nicolas chose Sara. He is now in love with the impostor and told them that he knows the truth even before Vanessa showed up. Nicolas wants an annulment for him to marry Sara. That is bad news for Vanessa and her mom, Betty since they're bankrupt and direly needs Nicolas's money. Vanessa and Betty tried to kill her but luckily a miracle happened. Lara thought Sara was Vanessa and tried to kill her but they both followed their hearts and finally found each other. Now Sara has Lara to back her up. Betty and Vanessa tried to blow the twins up with a bomb but her plan backfired and lost both her legs. Everyone thought Vanessa is already dead with the explosion but ironically became the impostor when she kidnapped the real Sara and went to the wedding ceremony. She almost succeeded but because of Lara, her plan failed. Sara came in time to convince everyone that the woman in the altar is a fake. Vanessa left in anger and in shame but this is also the day she receives her karma. Her lover Leandro is now literally insanely in love with her. She told him that he is stupid because she only used him to get Nicolas's money and she doesn't need him anymore. This made him so angry that he spilled acid on her face and destroyed the beauty she uses to deceive eveyone. She was then captured by the police who locked her up for good. Meanwhile, Betty died in a horrible car crash and Leandro is just plain insane. Finally the twins are re-united and Sara is living the life she always dreamt of with the man who truly loves her.
