Description

The Imperial Council Hall (Kubbealtı / Divan-ı Hümâyûn) where the veziers met in council with the sultan. The hearth in the middle was to warm the officials. The golden window enabled the sultan or the valide sultan to eavesdrop into the conversation without being noticed.
