I have just moved to Arlington, after many visits over the years. I have found, I have a history in Arlington. It seems my family lived here in the 20's and had a business. It was called J.M. Aleith Tailor. I have just been given a picture of that store in Arlington. J.M. Aleith was my mother's grandfather.

Julius Martin Aleith came to the US from Germany in 1882. He stayed in New York working as a tailor until he was offered an opportunity to open his own shop in North Dakota. My great-grandmother came to the US from Germany in 1888 and married my great-grandfather Aleith in North Dakota, than they came to the Northwest, where they had their family and lived the rest of their lives. They thought it was paradise here.

My mother is still living at the age of 89 here in the Arlington area. She is my source, as well as Ancestry.com.
