Gun emplacement. Note brickwork "crenelations" (in simulation of ruined building?)
Just south of Waverley Mill Bridge.

According to Cruickshank, this emplacement is a type 28 pillbox modified to take a WWI vintage 13-pounder field gun issued with 25 rounds of solid shot intended for use against armoured vehicles.
