Illiana Christian High School is a private, coeducational school in Lansing, Illinois. It was founded in 1945 as a school for the children of Dutch immigrants in the area.

Illiana Christian High School was founded on Biblical teachings as interpreted by the Reformed Confessions. Supported by more than 4000 families and 35 Reformed churches (Christian Reformed, Reformed, United Reformed and Protestant Reformed), Illiana seeks to graduate academically capable young people with a comprehensive Christian worldview.

[edit] Educational Philosohpy

The educational program at Illiana Christian High School is designed to help give its students a well-rounded Christian view of life. It aims to interpret all aspects of life in the light of the Holy Scriptures and the Reformed creeds. Illiana aims to graduate students with competence academically, but also aims to graduate young people who know, serve, and love God and their neighbor. All courses must be God-centered, meet the best educational standards, and be taught by a faculty committed to Christian instruction and scholarship.

To attain these goals, Illiana students are expected to at all times to live a life consistent with Christian principles. The honoring of God in all activities and living to the service of Christ is most important. The following ideals should be constantly held before student, teacher, and parent:

a. The development of Christian virtues such as love, honesty, courtesy, obedience, respect, sincerity, and the discipline of body and mind in accordance with the Holy Scriptures.

b. The development of Christian citizenship and leadership in the school, in one's chosen occupation, and in the community in accordance with the Holy Scriptures.

c. The development of Christian scholarship according to God-given ability.

Illiana offers a number of co-curricular activities for students.

Musical opportunities include Jazz Band, Pep Band, Symphonic/Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Acapella Choir, Concert Choir, Women’s Chorale, Freshmen Ensemble. Illiana's music program has been one of the strongest in the state. Competing across the country, Illiana's Wind Ensemble has been consistently recognized as one of the top bands in its competition division.

Other opportunities include Bill of Rights Convention, Bowling, Care Convention, Chapel, Christian Service Club, Close-Up, Drama, Fine Arts, Flag Corp, Improv, Intramural Sports, Landlopers, Math Team, Mock Trial, Echo (the student newspaper), Scribes, Senior Service, Student Council, Tutor Team, and the Spire (the yearbook).

Illiana has numerous athletic teams available to men and women. Men's Teams: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Tennis, Track and Field, Volleyball and Wrestling. Women's Teams: Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track and Field, and Volleyball.
