No - Africa is the Latin word for Africa, the Afri are a Berber tribe, and Afer may or may not be a Berber word; some scholars say it's from Punic `afar, some say it's from Greek, some say it's from Berber. Read the Africa article for more details. - Mustafaa 09:12, 24 Jul 2004 (UTC)
