[edit] Dead links

Hi. I noticed you made this change to delete a dead link on the People's Republic of China article. While helping cleaning up dead links is a good thing, deleting them entirely is not recommended, because it can make it hard for subsequent editors to find the citation again. Instead use the {{dead link}} template to mark the link as such. It helps inform other editors that the link is dead and to tell them to find a replacement link if possible; it also makes a link to the Internet Archive so that others can still view the link if it had been archived before the link went dead. WP:DEADLINK has more details. Anyway, I've already restored the link using the template, but I just wanted to let you know about this for the future. It doesn't look like you've made too many edits to Wikipedia so far, and I'm the first person to comment on your talk page, so welcome!. —Umofomia (talk) 08:13, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
