User talk:Icurite
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello, another modest Kiwi pops in and starts working with no fanfare apart from a mention on the list of NZers!
And clearly into communications. Just out of interest, I looked at what the system says was your first contribution - Radio Pacific - and wondered why talkback isn't a live link. Bit of easy research for you there, I guess!
See you 'round. Best wishes. - Robin Patterson 13:34, 28 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Wow! Thanks for the welcome! Radio Pacific wasn't my first contribution - see http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=Special:Contributions&hideminor=0&target=Icurite&limit=500&offset=0. I am really trying to concentrate on having at least a useful stub for each New Zealand radio station. I've also been enjoying Simple English. - Icurite 22:42, 28 Aug 2004 (UTC)

[edit] stub tags, format
Hi Icurite
Welcome to Wikipedia :-).
A request: please use the {{stub}} tag to indicate a stub. Also, the first mention of the article's name in the text is usually marked up in bold ('''bold''').
Thanks and keep up the good work! --Ianb 07:14, 3 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I will try to remember next time and I will try to fix up the many articles in which I made that mistake when I have the time. Thanks for the reminder. Icurite 10:15, 18 Sep 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Category:Wikipedians in New Zealand
Hi, You might want to consider adding {{User NZ res}} to the top of your user page, which will add you to this category automatically and also add a nice graphic. Onco_p53 07:43, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks. I took your advice. i c u r i t e
[edit] Stuckism Wales
I have put the information from Stuckism Wales into the Stuckism article here, as per merge tage, so it is currently effectively redundant, unless there is enough information to make an article like Stuckism in Australia.

[edit] Re:Hamilton suburb stubs
Just a quick heads-up about the naming conventions used for New Zealand places.
- If they're unique in the world, it's just "Name", like Te Anau.
- If they're unique in new Zealand, it's "Name, New Zealand", like Miramar, New Zealand.
- If theyre's more than one in NZ, it's "Name, Province", like Hillcrest, Waikato - these also usually get a disambiguation page at "Name, New Zealand".
A couple of the new ones you made have been moved from "X, Waikato" to "X, New Zealand". It's just to help non-NZ users of Wikipedia, who might know somewhere's in New Zealand but not whereabouts it is. BTW, there's also a specific geography stub template for New Zealand {{NZ-geo-stub}}. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Lifefm.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Lifefm.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 23:08, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wendy Meyer
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Wendy Meyer, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Wendy Meyer.
