Ichikawa Danjuro VIII

Ichikawa Danjuro VIII was a Japanese actor in the 1800s. He is known for his role as Prince Mitsuuji in the play Genji Moyo Furisode Hinagata. He played the role of Prince Mitsuuji in the first production in 1852. Danjuro committed suicide in 1854 at a hotel in Osaka, Japan, the night before he was to have starred as Jiraiya in the play Jiraiya Goketsu Monogatari.
