I verified the info in the article, though I didn't get a chance to put in direct citations. However, I've checked it out, so I removed the tag. Jlove1982 22:48, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] V/s?

What's V/s mean?

Mike Schiraldi 02:12, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

V/s is like the H.M.S. and U.S.S. codes, it stands for ,,varðskip‘‘ (guard ship, coastal defence ship) and is used for cannon armed Icelandic Coast Guard vessels. - 130.208.165.5 18:42, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
How about M/s and TF? Post answers at Ship prefix - Mike Schiraldi 17:34, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Military

Since when does Iceland have a military? Isn't more right to say "defence system" or something? Iceland does not have a military, thus the Icelandic Coast Guard cannot be part of it!

Actually it does, the Coast guard is the main part of it, and the crisis response unit and air defense system make up the rest of the Icelandic military
