I suggest a reference in this article to the earlier practice of cooling foodstuffs in streams. I think these buildings were called coolinghouses, but I'm not sure.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 128.211.220.61 (talk • contribs) .

I know them as spring houses, but I have not yet found a good reference about them. If someone has something on them, that would be great. Tom Harrison Talk 23:50, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
