A note about rink vs ring would be useful. --Wetman 13:34, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Why did "skating rink" redirect here?

This may be a regional thing, but in the southeastern United States where I live, a "skating rink" can describe both a roller skating or an ice skating venue. These would normally be qualified as a "roller skating rink" or an "ice skating rink". Here in Florida, if not qualified, one would assume that it was a roller skating rink.

I would have assumed when searching for "skating rink", that a generic article would have come up with links to roller skating and ice skating rinks. What gives?

Right. I think I have fixed that. See skating rink. Miguel Andrade 04:53, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
