The Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, formerly known as the Lady Byng Trophy, is presented each year to the National Hockey League "player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability".The Lady Byng Memorial Trophy has been awarded 81 times to 50 different players since its beginnings in 1925. The voting is conducted at the end of the season by the members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.(read more...)
The Hart Memorial Trophy, originally known as the Hart Trophy, the "oldest and most prestigious individual award in hockey", is awarded annually to the Most Valuable Player in the National Hockey League. The Hart Memorial Trophy has been awarded 82 times to 50 different players since its beginnings in 1924. Each year, members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association vote to determine the player who was the most valuable to his team during the regular season. Scoring five or more goals in a single game by one player is considered a great feat, and only 42 players in the history of the league have achieved this accomplishment. The most recent player to do so was Marian Gaborik of the Minnesota Wild, who scored five goals on 20 December 2007, in a game against the New York Rangers. This was the first time a player had achieved the feat in 11 years.(read more...)
The Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy, also known as the Maurice Richard Trophy is awarded annually to the leading goal scorer in the National Hockey League. It was donated to the NHL by the Montreal Canadiens hockey club in 1998-99 and is named in honour of Montreal Canadiens' player Maurice "Rocket" Richard. The current holder is Vincent Lecavalier of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who scored 52 goals during the 2006-07 season to earn his first Richard Trophy.(read more...)
The Conn Smythe Trophy is awarded annually to the player judged most valuable to his team during the National Hockey League's Stanley Cup playoffs. The Conn Smythe Trophy has been awarded 42 times to 36 players since the 1964-65 NHL season. Pearson Award has been awarded 36 times to 21 different players since its beginnings in 1971. The Lester Patrick Trophy has been has presented by the National Hockey League and USA Hockey since 1966 to honor a recipient's contribution to ice hockey in the United States. It is considered a non-NHL trophy since it may be awarded to players, coaches, officials, and other personnel outside the NHL. The trophy is named after Lester Patrick (1883–1960), player and long time coach of the New York Rangers, who was a developer of ice hockey.(read more...)

It was presented to the NHL by former player, general manager and head coach Art Ross. The trophy has been awarded 59 times to 22 players since its inception in the 1947-48 NHL season. The Vezina Trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League's goaltender who is "adjudged to be the best at this position". At the end of each season, the 30 General Managers of the teams in the National Hockey League vote to determine the goaltender who was the most valuable to his team during the regular season. Before 1981, it was awarded to the goaltender(s) the team allowing the fewest number of goals during the regular season; now, the William M. Jennings Trophy is awarded under this previous definition.(read more...)
