Why the rather weasley "omits" in the un-sourced comment "his CV omits a stint as Literature tutor"? The reference to his previous "jobs" come from interviews, not actual comprehensive CVs, and as far as I can tell Rankin has mentioned his attempt to do a PhD on Muriel Spark fairly frequently and this would involve the tutoring role. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.159.133.77 (talk) 19:45, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

As part of my rolling upgrade of articles on Scottish authors (I've looked at Iain Banks, Irvine Welsh and George MacDonald Fraser so far), I plan to start articles on the individual Ian Rankin books. Anyone feel like lending a hand? --Guinnog 11:28, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Yes you're right! I'm not sure what happened there. Originally I clicked the link from the list of novels to a 'this page doesn't exist' page. Somehow an additional space crept in between the ( and 1999. Weird (Sterling effort by the way) twitter 09:59, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Image:IanRankin.jpg is being used on this article. I thought when I uploaded this that it was a good fair use. However times have changed and a picture of a living person should be easy to procure. I have removed the image and deleted it. I will try to find a free one. --John (talk) 05:28, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
