I posed for this picture in order to illustrate the article "homosexual transsexual". That article as it is written as of now needs a estimated 16th grade level of reading comprehension to understand it. The lead in alone needs an 18th grade level of reading comprehension. (That would be graduate school). I think that adding a image will make the text more understandable to the average reader who is not versed in psychology, or the language of these theories. The alternative is to use simpler language. Use of simpler language would probably result in an article with text that would be offensive and crude in and of itself. In the interest of making a better article a picture is called for.
The concept I have chosen for the picture is to defy stereotyped images of both youthful transwomen and of scientist. While at the same time illustrating much of what the article is about. A homosexual transsexual is merely a transsexual who as a male before transition was attracted to and sexually active with men (a 5-6 on the Kinsey Scale according to Blanchard.) According to the theory typically such people were feminine boys, started living as a woman at 25 or younger, and appear feminine and attractive with relative ease. For an objective test of the last point I put this Image on hotornot.com to see how it rated. The median score is a 7 which according to hot or not's statistics makes this picture hotter than 66% of females (pretty good for someone who has not had any cosmetic surgery). However I am into science, something that does not fit this theory but according to Bailey's writings that alone does not invalidate the theory or make me the other type. Furthermore I met the guy back in 1999 and early 2000 and doubt he thought I was autogynephilic.
Use of a picture of myself was a last resort. Just look at the talk page of that article to see why. Basically only an image of someone who self identifies could ever be acceptable. So yeah I don't object to the classification. Anyone with violent protestations should please add them to my talk page.--Hfarmer (talk) 22:49, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
