Well, I've thought about it, and I'm really not a good writer or anything, so I think it's best to wait for you or someone else to edit the Maiden page. I can still give ideas on what to put in the article and help out, though. For 1983/Piece of Mind, it should be included that the World Piece tour was the first tour Maiden ever headlined in the U.S. Also, if it doesn't mention that with the addition of Nicko McBrain into the band, it became Maiden's most successful and still remains their longest lasting line up, it should. Haha, no worries mate. Good to see a Pom learning about Aussie Rules. Firstly I suggest you take a look at AFL Video where you can buy DVDs and watch AFL games for free, a top site it is. But really there's nothing like experiencing it live, with sports like rugby what you see on TV is very similar to what happens at the stadium, but Aussie Rules needs to be seen live to fully appreciate it - bigger ground, more movement by the players, more tactics etc.

Haha yeah it's a bit like that. We know the rules, it's just the umpires that don't! The game only lasts for 2 hours so there's less time for beer drinking and hooliganism (we save that for the cricket in summer). And because it's so exciting you have to focus on the game, no time to get drunk ay! Footy starts in two weeks by the way :) Rogerthat Talk 10:50, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
Getting tickets on the day is absolutely fine for most matches, the Gabba in Brisbane seats about 35,000 and the game isn't as popular there as in Victoria. In Sydney you're looking at the SCG which is around 40,000, and again the game isn't as popular, although you still get crowds of 30,000+ there, considering the more popular sport, rugby, gets crowds of 15,000, thats pretty good. Matches are always played on weekends (Friday night, Saturday/Sunday arvo, Sat night)
The finals series starts in September and it will be pretty hard getting a ticket to one of those games (well, if you book as soon as they go on sale, there's nothing ridiculous like 10 month waiting lists like in America). Click here for the 2006 fixture.
There's no Newcastle team mate, you might have to go for the other New South Wales team, the Sydney Swans (who won their first premiership in 72 years in 2005). Cheers, Rogerthat Talk 22:11, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi Iain, no, it wasn't me who added it. My first reaction when I saw it was similar to yours, but I thought it deserved a little extra background digging, & the very informative website which I linked to seems to back it up. Of course, you can't believe everything you read on a website... but, under the joviality, it has the ring of well-researched truth. All these folk etymologies need to be taken with a pinch of salt, but as long as we don't state "this IS the origin of the phrase" then I think it's OK to leave it in, until someone proves definitively otherwise. Yeah you seem to be right. I've checked other discographies and noticed what you said. The best discography table I've found is the Iron Maiden discography btw where you can see a thumbnail picture for the albums too. It's a different format to the one it is has at the moment though, but in the article its only difference is having the thumbnail picture next to it, but the format is different to accomodate the little picture in the table. You could modify the Maiden template by including the info already provided in the current Slipknot discog table. This is what I did for the American Head Charge article, which is my current wiki preoccupation. What do you think? I'm considering doing the work myself in the distant future (if it remains the same), but wish to avoid an edit conflict. LuciferMorgan 19:24, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

PS. If you need any Slipknot information pre-1998 about Slipknot, www.mfkr1.com is a great site, totally dedicated only to Slipknot info from that time, especially about MFKR. and Crowz. etc. Maybe the link should be added to the main Slipknot page LuciferMorgan 19:40, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply... sometimes there's so many wiki policies it's hard to learn it all in one go so thanks for the one on the discogs. Yeah collaboration is definitely better, especially when time is limited, so it's cool another wiki user did the image bit. Hi, i am one the people supposedly accused of vandalizing your wikis (yes you accused more than one). I am angered by this as you obviously do not realize that the person who actually did it probably has a dynamic IP address. So you will probably never catch them and you must realize that because other people also have dynamic IP address (due to having dial-up internet and other causes) might run upon your accusations (as have I) by chance when they browse wikipedia. As of this moment i ran a WHOIS against myself i found that there is one other person possessing the same IP I have just in America. If someone vandalizes your wikis and they do not have a username, just delete the changes and please do no make a fuss. If you block that IP, you will end up blocking multiple people from correctly editing wikipedia who unluckily obtained the ip 4.23.226.177 that you sent messages to.

Some points:
1 - I cannot block anyone as I'm not an administrator
2 - I am fully aware that I'm flagging vandalism by IP addresses and that these addresses can be shared. As it's recommended elsewhere, if you have problems editing because some lowlife moron who happens to share your IP has vandalised a load of articles and had the IP address blocked... register. Create a username. It's as simple as that. That way even if you log on via the same IP, as long as your edits are OK, you won't be blocked. Would you rather we let the vandals go unpunished so they could just go on wrecking our (and in this I include yourself) hard work?
Please - sign up. Create a username. It takes minutes and will stop all the problems.
