I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday

"I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday" is a song written by Morrissey in 1992 for the album Your Arsenal.

David Bowie recorded this Mick Ronson produced song a year later for his Black Tie White Noise album. Morrissey wrote the original version in response to Bowie's earlier song "Rock and Roll Suicide" (there are similar structures to each song), which was Bowie's responds to Jacques Brel's "Jeff". Having heard Morrissey's version, Bowie spoke to his friend Heklawo and decided to repay the favour by recording a cover version in a style he would have done in the 70s when he recorded "Rock and Roll Suicide" thus completing the circle.^{[citation needed]}
