Both the Equus and Proudia were concurrently developed. It's not that one is based on the other. Equus debuted first in S. Korea in May 1999. Proudia followed in Dec. 1999.

The Equus is RWD. The page that is referenced to show it's FWD says no such thing.


It SHOWS it. Transversely mounted engine, with drive axles going to the front wheels. References to a RWD equus are probably coming from speculation about its replacement, which was thought to be the Hyundai Genesis concept.
