[edit] Requested move

At least there are three kinds of shimeji mushrooms and they have different scientific names. Current title does not match with the content. Jjok 18:04, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Why not turn the redirect Shimeji into an article. It can name the three species and provide links to them, and also include information on cooking, cultivation, etc. Fg2 (talk) 01:07, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Yep, Fg2's suggestion is a good one.cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 02:52, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

I am interested in succeeding the edit history and my opinion is that the new article should be the successor. That is the reason I am proposing the move instead of the copy.--Jjok (talk) 03:40, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Both the hypsizygus tessellatus and shimeji articles have significant edit histories. The current situation is the result of a (perhaps ill-advised) merge. IMO the move is a bad idea, it will just further complicate the edit histories.
The basic question is, one article or four? I'm inclined to the four. We've tried the merge option and it didn't work, and I think we'll just go down this road again and again if we persist with it.
If this is adopted, we can revert to the previous version of the shimeji article as a base, decide what material belongs in each of the two articles (some overlap is fine), and create stubs for the other two species. Andrewa (talk) 17:57, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
I see. Both pages have own histories. I will copy the content from here to there and bring shimeji back to an article. I thank all of you for joining this talk.--Jjok 19:27, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Per the above discussion, and five days having passed, I am delisting this request from Wikipedia:Requested moves. Cheers. -GTBacchus(talk) 02:43, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
