Hypersegmented neutrophils

Hypersegmented neutrophils are typical of megaloblastic anemia and contain five or more nuclear lobes. One of the earliest, notable changes in the peripheral blood is the appearance of these hypersegmented neutrophils that appear before the onset of anemia. Normal neutrophils have three to four lobes. ^[1]
