Hydrophobia afflicted persons, please respond for symptom comparison;

[edit] hydrophobia = aquaphobia

i was just wondering whether it is strictly correct to state that hydrophobia can be used interchangeably with aquaphobia. i have always been under the impression that the word 'hydrophobia' is reserved for the condition observed in rabies sufferers, or for the chemistry term. please correct me if i'm wrong! riana 06:00, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

I rather think this is an issue with common vernacular, much as 'irregardless' is a word in use though it doesn't actually mean anything. At this point, 'aquaphobia' has been removed from the article, though I think it should still be in there. JSacharuk 23:14, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

It contradicts what is said in Aquaphobia#Confusion_between_aquaphobia_and_hydrophobia. Maybe it could be left there together with a note about it being a common mistake, or a link to the aforementioned section in aquaphobia. --AZnonymous 14:34, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
