doesn't make any sense what is the feature?

Agreed. The term 'geological feature' may be more appropriate

Most 'oil' companies explore for both oil and gas. In many cases both are found in a single discovery. Exploration for oil is no different to exploration for gas in its basic techniques and I propose that this page is renamed to Hydrocarbon exploration, any comments?.
