Neighborhood v. Community Area Chicago's community areas were largely defined in the 1920s and remain important because a variety of census and other information continues to be reported on the basis of this division of the city.
Unlike some of the community areas, Hyde Park continues to be a neighborhood and is (in my opinion) primarily notable because it is a neighborhood, not a community area. (Look at virtually any newspaper article concerning Hyde Park to confirm.)
For this reason, it strikes me as peculiar to highlight the fact that hyde park is a community area in the introduction. Rather than do away with the reference altogether, I've modified the intro so that HP is described as both neighborhood and community area.
