[edit] New zoom values for Yahoo! Maps

Yahoo! Maps recently changed from using a mag value to a zoom value. For example:

• http://maps.yahoo.com/broadband/#mvt=h&lat=40.6397&lon=-73.7789&mag=5

is automatically converted to:

• http://maps.yahoo.com/broadband/#mvt=h&lat=40.6397&lon=-73.7789&mag=5&zoom=14

The following table shows how these values are converted by Yahoo! Maps:

mag (old value)	17	16	15	14	13	12	11	10	9	8	7	6	5	4	3	2	1	0
zoom (new value)	2	3	4	5	6	7	8	9	10	11	12	13	14	15	16	17	18	19

The new Yahoo! Maps zoom value is equivalent to the MultiMap value (which is the Google Maps/Live Search Maps value plus one). This can be seen by comparing the following maps:

• http://maps.yahoo.com/broadband/#mvt=h&lat=40.6397&lon=-73.7789&zoom=14
• http://www.multimap.com/maps/?&t=l&map=40.6397,-73.7789|14|32
• http://maps.google.com/maps?t=h&ll=40.6397,-73.7789&z=13
• http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&style=h&cp=40.6397~-73.7789&lvl=13
