[edit] Speedy delete tag

I'm nominating this article for deletion, the song has not been announced to be the upcoming single. Unlike Candyman. If you disagree, please provide references and rewrite the article. "Powerful ballad" doesn't qualify under NPOV terms. I ask whoever is capable to revise it. -- Omernos 01:22, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Speedy tag removed. Being not well written is not a WP:CSD. I would suggest WP:AFD if you really think it should be deleted, though asking for it to be cleaned up is a better idea unless you don't think the page should even exist. -Goldom ‽‽‽ 02:37, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Well there isn't any official news that this will be an alternate single. And if it was, up 'til official sources announce show it could be retrieved, or rather re-created. That's the major reason, aside from the fact it's not well written. -- Omernos 15:57, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

--It is semi-officially stated that "Hurt" will be the next single. At www.allaccess.com (click on "Top 40/M" and scroll down to "Cool New Music"), "Hurt" is listed on the upcoming radio releases. Although RCA and Christina's team haven't stated this, radio stations have been notified that "Hurt" will be released in the upcoming weeks.

[edit] Vandalism

someone has uploaded a picture of a pig nursing it's young and put the caption "Aguilera performing Hurt during 2006 MTV Video Music Awards..." and a picture with the caption "Aguilera in the music video..." which depicts a woman masturbating. Please do something about this.

[edit] Hurt Cover

People are adding and removing the cover of the single. I think it's good to have it early, and to me it doesn't look fake. The photo is obviously from the promotional photosession. And the font used for "Hurt" is the same as "Christina Aguilera"'s font on Back to Basics. But it's good to wait and make sure of it. - Omernos 19:46, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

-- The cover is official. Billboard Magazine had that photo next to the review of the song.

I think the cover looks real to me and stop talking it off!! christina aguilera it was the most popolar song herat and she is so hot

[edit] Billboard Status

Is it really no. 99 on Billboard i checked billboards official weekly update page and her debut wasn't noted.

September 14, 2006, 11:15 AM ET

Beyonce earns her highest Hot 100 debut, as "Ring the Alarm" enters the chart at No. 12. Also new are Jesse McCartney's "Right Where You Want Me" (No. 67), Tim McGraw's "Taylor Swift" (No. 86), Nick Lachey's "I Can't Hate You Anymore" (No. 87), Justin Timberlake's "My Love" featuring T.I. (No. 89), Webstar & Young B "Chicken Noodle Soup" featuring the Voice Of Harlem (No. 92), Unk's "Walk It Out" (No. 95) and Rascal Flatts' "My Wish" (No. 99).

[edit] New Uploaded Cover

Guys are you serious? it's so obvious that the current uploaded cover is a fake! I think immediate action should take place. -- Omernos 19:40, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes we're serious!!!! Because it is the official single cover!!!

whoever the hell keeps changing the release date of the single Hurt from September 19 to September 1 please stop...I am a member of allaccess.com and the song was OFFICIALLY RELEASED and SENT OUT TO RADIO ON SEPTEMBER 19,2006.

The Cover isn't faked!!!.

Don't worry, when the pic was originally on wikipedia I saved it on to my computer so I could use it for things like msn messenger so I uploaded it again and it shouldn't be deleted again because there is proof that it is real, look above my post. Jessica_simpson121

See guys? You insisted and insisted and kept on uploading back the unofficial cover, slapped it on without consulting whatsoever and now the official one pops. You need to learn to research. I didn't believe the first one was the official, because it didn't look like it. Thanks to whoever uploaded the new OFFICIAL one -- Omernos 20:22, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Charts+trajectories

I've deleted the (empty) charts and trajectories, as wikipedia is not a crystal ball. See WP:NOT. It is only appropriate to add the charts and trajectories when the song actually gets charts.~ EmeZxX 08:54, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

I've gone and deleted the trajectories altogether since they violate what Wikipedia is not. Please do not restore them. Velten 00:58, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

there are no Polish Singles Charts!--Chronisgr 10:51, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Itunes

wow... im really wondering why hurt is moving so slow in the hot 100, is it true that it is not yet release in itunes?.. good for christina

[edit] Hurt is on iTunes

I removed the digital downloads thing because "Hurt" has been availabe for digital download since the album came out.

is it really out in itunes or not? hurt is such abreat ballad! i hope it reach number 1 of billboard...

"Hurt" has reached number eleven on U.S. iTunes when this song reached number seventy-five on the Hot 100, it's already been released on U.S. iTunes. Kraft. 01:47, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

she feals like she is talking to her father and bananas

[edit] Ballad?

I know this song is a ballad, but there is no existing genre called "ballad". Pop should at least be listed as a genre for this song. Just like there isn't a genre called "power ballad". Power ballad songs are listed under rock sub-genres. Please change it.

[edit] Number of charts

There are WAY TOO MANY charts here. WP:CHARTS says that [t]he number of charts should include no more than ten national charts, and up to ten additional charts, but no more than eighteen charts total. The page also states clearly that trajectories shouldn't be on song pages, so that chart should be removed as well. Since I'm not one of the watchers here, I don't feel like I should be the one to do so, but at least half those stats should be cut out. SKS2K6 06:09, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

ok...we can put away the airplay charts, if there is a single chart..or..?!

why we CANT put trajectories here?? I think it is very useful to know more about how this song perform on charts. PUT IT!! WILL BE APPRECIATED SO MUCH THANK YOU.. =)

yeah..you are right..but only the United world Charts and the Billboard Hot 100 trajectories..

someone needs to take at least half these charts away. I'd like someone who is interested in this article to do it, but if not, I'll go ahead and take away all the unimportant charts. I mean, the Thailand airplay chart? Seriously? Wikipedia is not a source of all human knowledge under the sun. Someone need to pick at most the 18 most important charts and remove the others Guylikeu 18:08, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Since no-one volunteered, I took away all the unnecessary charts. I used Cool (song) as a model, since it is a featured article. There are now 20. If you must add another chart in, then one of the existing ones needs to be removed in it's place.Guylikeu 17:21, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] UK Sales?

"However, even though it got to #11 on the charts in the UK, it has sold a massive amount of 359,532."

I find this doubtful, very doubtful considering that most songs on the UK chart barely reach 200,000 by the end of their run. Can someone please confirm if this is true - if not please delete, thanks.

[edit] Formats

There is no mention of the Remixes CD and 12" issued in the US. Dollvalley (talk) 18:36, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] article talks about lyrical content without giving source

I think the text of the lyrics should be cited. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Plinwu (talk • contribs) 16:30, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
