Hurricane Gilma was located southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico, near 19.1N 118.8W at 15:00 UTC. Gilma had been moving in a west-northwest direction at 8 knots with maximum sustained winds estimated at 70 knots, gusts to 85 knots.
