Hurricane 5.9

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hurricane 5.9 is a fast beach catamaran.

A strict one design framework of the Hurricane 5.9 has ensured competitive buying and running costs since its inception. The twin trapeze layout and superb engineering integrity has produced a cat even faster than the classic single trapezed tornado but with great tolerance to differing weights. With an overall beam of 8 feet the 5.9 can be trailed without dismantiling making her perfect for holiday sailing or the race circuit. The 5.9 is designed to give tornado like performance coupled with smooth predictable handling. In many conditions the 5.9 will actually outpace the classic tornado. The boat is equipped with kick up rudders and centre boards which ride up on impact reducing risk of damage. The mylar main sail gives long life and low maintenance with less frequent need for replacement. And now with the introduction of the SX rig (3 sail) the boat is better than ever.
