The Hunza-Naga Campaign was fought by troops of the British Raj against rebellious tribesmen in the Hunza and Nagar areas of Gilgit (now part of the Northern Areas of Pakistan).
[edit] Cause
Towards the end of the 19th century just as imperial troops began consolidating territory in tribal areas - these tribes began to acquire rifles and ammunition [1]. The British suspected Russian involvement "with the Rulers of the petty States on the northern boundary of Kashmir;"[2]
