Talk:Humans United Against Robots

[edit] HUAR logo
Whilst the robot head does resemble Optimus Prime, has Keith or Spooky actually said it is Optimus? Keith is a fan of Transformers and I believe the logo description should just generalise that it is a robotic creature, not specifically Optimus. --Bren talk 05:27, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- Whilst the victorious figure resembles a human, should we refer to it as "humanoid"? Maybe the HUAR logo is a stern warning in which all humans are destroyed, and the figure in the picture is an alien conquering the robots because there are no humans left to do it. ...Clearly it is intended to be Optimus' head, just as it is clearly intended to be a human. Keith is selling the image, I think if it bothered him that it's Optimus' head he would've had it changed prior to sales. Therefore, noting on a website that it's Optimus' head is not likely to bother him now. Additionaly, I have two objections to the specific phrase "robotic creature":
-
- It makes it seam like you've never seen transformers and I think the idea that the people writing the HUAR wiki can't spot Optumis Prime in a line-up would be far more offencive to Keith.
- A creature is by definition a living biological entity that can autolocomote. Therefore, a "robotic creature" is an oxymoron, or at very best, a cyborg, which that image clearly is not.Poinete, ede ede; tachu tachu! 08:35, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

- Wow, I guess I don't know why you feel so strongly about this. As far as I can see, it was clearly drawn to be Optimus Prime. I don't see any reason not to call a spade a spade. Perhaps a poll in the HUAR! Command Center could clear up what this decapitated hunk of metal is, just a thought.Poinete, ede ede; tachu tachu! 09:16, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Scooba
The paragraph:
- Keith enslaved a Scooba robot for the purposes of getting detailed observations of robot behavior, and clean floors. Should the Scooba fail to provide Keith with the information he requires, he may try to make it dig holes in his back yard.
Was this actually stated on the podcast or anywhere else? --Bren talk 05:27, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yes.Poinete, ede ede; tachu tachu! 08:37, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

- I'm just a humble fan trying to do something cool and fun for the guys; I don't have every episode archived and annotated on my hard disk. If you want to find out when Keith bought his Scooba you should ask the forums. Frankly, though, I'm supprised you're putting so much effort into this if you've not even been listening long enough to have known about the Scooba. - No it's not that I don't know about the Scooba, it's just that I haven't heard about it being enslaved or threatened to dig holes before. Can the statement be reduced to: "Keith enslaved a Scooba robot for the purposes of getting detailed observations of robot behavior, and clean floors." only? --Bren talk 23:55, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

- I may be wrong, but I beleive there was discussion of having the scooba dig holes. I don't know where, perhaps as a punnishment if it didn't beat Spooky's swiffer in one-on-one combat. Whatever dude, I was trying to make this site fun for KATG fans to visit, but I guess if you want to take the soul out of the article and just list a set of cold psudo-facts, then go ahead.Poinete, ede ede; tachu tachu! 05:25, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

- This is an encyclopedia, not a fan page. The purpose of an encyclopedia is to list verified facts. It is not about being a fun place to visit. Hugh2323 05:34, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] This article subject is notable why???
And why shouldn't it be sent to VfD? 74.134.100.173 (talk) 01:16, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
I have no idea what VfD is. However, I think you will not question the notability of this article after the first time a robot rips your internal organs out and atomizes them in front of you. Incognitum 209.193.28.184 (talk) 00:57, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
