[edit] Name change law
This section is totally irrelevant to this article. There hasn't been any law enforcing using "ov" and there isn't any law enforcing removing of it. The whole issue has nothing to do with "Human rights". Jahangard 17:41, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Here is the official comment by Rahmonov's media relation office (according to ozodi.org [1]):
"ин иқдоми раиси ҷумҳур ба маънои саросарӣ шудани чунин иқдом нест. Ва тоҷикӣ кардани номҳо ихтиёри ҳар шаҳрванд аст."
Translation: Presiden't decision is not about enforcing it as a nationwide change. And the Tajikifying of the name is up to the will of each citizen. Jahangard 23:02, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately as it is attributed to a reliable source, we probably have to include it. I have "attributed" it to the individual who is writing it, and added the presidents perspective. I also added 'sic' where he spelt the name incorrectly. - Francis Tyers · 10:16, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
