English: Human placenta shown a few minutes after birth. The side shown faces the baby with the umbilical cord top right. The unseen side connects to the uterine wall. The white fringe surrounding the bottom is the remnants of the amniotic sac.

中文: 分娩幾分鐘之內的人類胎盤。這是面向胎兒的一面。在此看不到的另一面連接子宮。右上角是臍帶。底部的白色邊緣是剩下的羊水膜。
