Humacao Airport (IATA: HUC, FAA LID: X63) is a public airport located one mile (2 km) southeast of the central business district of Humacao, in Puerto Rico.[1]

[edit] Facilities and aircraft
Humacao Airport covers an area of 14 acres (6 ha) which contains one runway (10/28) measuring 2,450 x 60 ft. (747 x 18 m).[1]
For 12-month period ending March 16, 1998, the airport had 5,349 aircraft operations, an average of 14 per day: 76% general aviation, 22% air taxi and 2% military. There are 35 aircraft based at this airport: 66% ultralights, 26% single engine, 6% multi engine and 3% helicopters.[1]
The airport is scheduled to shut-down operations on September 2008, because of the new airport in Ceiba ( Jose E. Aponte de La Torre), that is sheduled to begin operations in September 2008. Alongside, the shutdown of Fajardo Airport will occur.
