Hull-Ottawa Canadiens

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hull-Ottawa Canadiens were a team in the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) Senior "A" league for 3 seasons from 1956-59. The team played an interlocking schedule in 1956-57 with the Quebec Senior Hockey League. The Canadiens then played in the Eastern Professional Hockey League (EPHL) from 1959-63. Scotty Bowman coached the team in 1962-63.

The senior team coexisted with the OHA Junior team for three seasons, then in 1959 the Ottawa Junior Canadiens merged with the senior team. This union lasted for 4 years until the EPHL folded after the 1962-63 season.

Games were played at the Ottawa Auditorium and at the Arena de Hull later renamed the Arena Robert Guertin.
