[edit] Edits to page on Mar 15 2008

  • Page was flagged for clean-up and was way too long
  • Created Hugh (given name) and moved infobox, the "Origins" introductory paragraph, the "given name" categories and all entries pertaining to people with the first name "Hugh" to that page.
  • Added "see also" links to Hughes, Hugo and Hugues
  • Have started to connect the various European noble titles with one another. I had hoped to catogorise them under Cypriot, French, Frankish, Anglo-Norman, English, etc... but over the course of history many of these titles overlapped various territories and with one society conquering another they all sort of blended together. I kept them as separate as I could.
  • I have removed the "in use" tag in order to allow others a go at it (I've been at this for half a day), but I do plan on coming back to this page and better narrow the list for people two whom one or more of the titles belong. The list also needs to be standardized (ie. date of birth, AKAs etc...)
