Hugo Pesce was a doctor living in Lima, Peru circa the 1950's.[1][2]
He was an encouraging influence[2] on the young Ernesto "Che" Guevara during Guevara's trip around Latin America.[1] He is depicted in the film "Motorcycle Diaries."[2]
An influence on Pesce as well as Guevara, was a socialist named Mariategui, who spoke of the power of the indigenous natives and the potential they have to reclaim sovereignty of their land.
