Hugh de Mapenor (or Hugh de Mapenore) was a medieval Bishop of Hereford.

He was the son of Robert de Mapenore and his wife Matilda, who lived in Herefordshire at Hampton, Herefordshire near Leominster.^[1] He served William de Braose as a clerk from 1189 to 1196, and then served William's son Giles de Braose, Bishop of Hereford. He occupied the office of Dean of Hereford before September 29, 1202.^[2]

He was elected to the see of Hereford on February 3, 1216.^[3] King John of England objected to the election, and took the case to Pope Honorius III, but the king died before the case was decided.^[1] Hugh was consecrated on December 18, 1216^[3] by Sylvester Bishop of Worcester.^[1]

He died in April of 1219, probably on the 16th.^[3]
